Md. Mesbahul Maruf Successfully Defends M.S. Thesis
Congratulations to Md. Mesbahul Maruf on the successful defense of his M.S. thesis, "Design and Development of an Integrated In-Field Agricultural Robot for Terrain-Adaptive Mobility, Navigation, and Plant Phenotyping," in the Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University.
Advised by Dr. Tanzeel U. Rehman, Maruf's research focused on the design and development of an integrated agricultural robotic platform for autonomous operation in challenging field environments. His work combined mechanical design, terrain-adaptive suspension, motion control, navigation, and localization to enable reliable in-field mobility. The robotic platform also served as a foundation for multi-camera 3D plant reconstruction and non-destructive plant phenotyping, advancing automation technologies for precision agriculture.
His thesis committee included Dr. Sushan Ru and Dr. Iris Beatriz Vega Erramuspe.
Following the completion of his M.S., Maruf will continue at Auburn University as a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he will further his research in agricultural robotics and intelligent autonomous systems. We congratulate him on this achievement and wish him continued success in his doctoral studies.
